Even though summer is not officially over until September 22, it feels like the season has reached its end with the kids back in school and the dark of night coming earlier with each passing week. To really send summer off right, you and your family will want to attend the final film in the Starlight Cinemas Free Summer Outdoor Movies series on September 15. On that night, the film will be Steven Spielberg’s classic family adventure, E.T. The 1982 early entry into Spielberg’s filmography tells the story of the eponymous alien, ET, and how his human friend Elliot, and some of his closest friends, evade parents and government officials in an effort to return ET to his home. Mid-summer nights can be a bit chilly, so you will want to be sure to pack a jacket or sweatshirt. Don’t forget your blankets and chairs to sit on, and maybe some movie snacks. There will be local food trucks as well.
